About Fuel Pumps

When an engine is tuned to give more power often the standard fuel pump can not keep up with the increased fuel demand. The answer to this is to fit a fuel pump with a higher fuel flow. Uprated fuel pumps are available in various forms to suit different applications. In tank fitting pumps are available as a direct replacement for the original pump and universal external fuel pumps are available to suit either fuel injected or carburettor fed engines. These universal fuel pumps have options with different sized inlet / outlet ports to suit various fuel pipe sizes.
