About Oil Catch Tanks
|
An oil catch tank does exactly as its name suggests. High revving competition engines can produce high levels of oil vapour through the engines breather system. On a standard engine this oil vapour would be piped back into the intake system but this is far from ideal for a highly tuned engine. A far better solution is to connect the engine breathers to an oil catch tank, this allows the engine to breath and any oil which condenses collects safely in the tank. Most oil catch tanks have multiple inlets to suit most engine applications and sight gauges are located on the side of the tanks to indicate when they require emptying.
