More often than not it is very difficult to keep a close eye on the rev counter whilst you are racing. This is where a shift light can be highly useful as they provide a clear visual indication of the optimum RPM to change gear and prevent over revving. Shift lights are user settable so you can tailor them to suit your engine. There are a number of different options of shift light types. Some models simply have one bright light which illuminates when the set RPM limit is reached whereas others have a series of lights which illuminate as you approach the set RPM limit to give you a ‘pre warning’.
