About Pirelli Motorcycle

Pirelli & C. was founded in 1872 in Milan by a young engineer called Giovanni Battista Pirelli, and a year later, the first facility for the production of rubber articles was up and running. In their early years Pirelli were quite diverse with their products, manufacturing bicycle tyres, telegraph cables and car tyres. During the 1980s Pirelli acquired the German motorcycle tyre manufacturer Metzeler, and so began their production and development of motorcycle tyres.

The history of Pirelli motorcycle tyres is linked with its commitment to motor racing in all forms, achieving exceptional results on the world’s race tracks and Pirelli are the control tyre for both World Superbike and British Superbike championships. The innovations and technology gained from racing at the highest level means Pirelli can use this technology to provide us with the best possible road tyres available, whatever the purpose, from track days to touring - Pirelli engineers apply race tyre technology to Pirelli street tyres to make a tyre you can trust!

The "P Lunga" is the distinctive trademark of Pirelli, the logo was created almost by chance in 1908 has since stood for quality products and a solid tradition of manufacturing and innovation.
